Training – From Design to Evaluation

Training – Needs assessments, designs, and measurement of success. All training programs try to achieve these markers but what does the research show? How do you prove success in the workplace? How does the CSA Standard for Training come into play?This workshop focuses on techniques that increase the return on your training effort facilitating cultural change and measurable impacts in the field.  I hope you will join us.

 

Glen M. Walker, CRSP, CHSC, CMM

Currently the Health and Safety Officer for the Town of Whitby, Glen’s career has spanned many sectors including construction, automotive, service industry, community service, aircraft and food manufacturing. He has taught Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resource Management, Adult Learning and Labour Market Forecasting for both Durham College and Seneca College.

 

A self-described lifelong learner, Glen is an alumni of Humber College’s Safety Engineering Technology Program.  He also received a diploma in Human Resource Management from Seneca College and holds a certification in Adult Education/Training and Development. He maintains a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and Certified Health & Safety Consultant designation and is a Certified Municipal Manager.

 

Glen received a Certificate of Excellence in Teaching Award from Seneca College and has also been featured in Accident Prevention Magazine – Article entitled ‘Discovering Your Inner Facilitator’. His passion for training as a tool to maximize participant engagement and retention to enhance safety culture has led to numerous speaking engagements across Canada.

 

Glen has served as Chair for the CSSE Toronto Chapter and has held the positions of Board Member and Program Chair. He is currently one of the facilitators for two professional credentials programs for the CSSE - Training Needs Assessments and Options and Developing Effective OHSE Training Courses.
